Years ago the Palatinate Forest already drew me in. Back then still one or two times a week on a mountain bike – good times, but the rides left little room to truly take in nature. You rode through it, not with it.

That changed once the camera came into play. Standing on the rocks of the Palatinate Forest early in the morning was another thing entirely. Together with fellow photographers we captured images of the Palatinate that many of us had never seen this way. The question "Is that really here?" came up again and again – and it delighted me every time. Not everyone willingly left their bed at 3 a.m. to drive out into the forest and climb the Palatinate hills. I did.

I present a few of these shots here under "Portfolio". The camera always came along on travels too, so quite a bit of that has found its way into the gallery as well.

For now, it's all resting. The backpack stays in the cupboard more often than I'd like; other things take priority right now. This site is therefore above all a look back.

But the Palatinate Forest isn't going anywhere, the sun still rises over the rocks every morning – and the camera is within reach. Maybe someday.
